Syverud to oversee $20 billion BP Gulf fund

Kent D. Syverud, JD, dean of the School of Law and the Ethan A.H. Shepley University Professor, has been named a trustee of the $20 billion BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Trust. He is one of two who will oversee the newly established trust designed to settle claims against BP resulting from the Deepwater Horizon explosion April 20. FULL STORY

Later-in-life colitis diagnosis has better outcome

Adults diagnosed with ulcerative colitis after age 50 are more likely to achieve remission from their symptoms than patients diagnosed at younger ages, even when those patients receive similar treatments, according to School of Medicine researchers. FULL STORY

Washington University Bulletin to go online only

The 2010-11 edition of the Washington University Bulletin will be available online only beginning Friday, Aug. 13. Electronic publication of the bulletin, previously printed every two years, will allow more timely and easily accessible information and is both environmentally and fiscally responsible. FULL STORY
